Vaginal tightening surgeries are among the aesthetic applications frequently performed today. The vagina, which can expand due to age, pregnancy, childbirth or hormonal reasons, regains its former tightness with vaginal tightening operations.

Vagina deformations may occur in women for some reasons. One of these deformations is vaginal enlargement. Vaginal enlargement can negatively affect women’s sexual life. In addition, vaginal infections can be seen more frequently in case of vaginal enlargement. In order to prevent these and to restore the anatomy of the vagina, vaginal tightening surgery, vaginoplasty, is performed.

The vagina consists of muscle and connective tissue. These tissues can be affected and enlarged due to advancing age, genetic structure and pregnancy. Tears in the muscle and connective tissue can occur in difficult births and increase the risk of vaginal enlargement. In addition, the sound coming from the vagina during sexual intercourse can also affect people negatively.

Vaginoplasty takes an average of 1 hour under general anesthesia in a hospital environment. After the operation, the patient is discharged after staying in the hospital for 1 night on average.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines sexual health as ‘a combination of the physical, emotional, intellectual and social aspects of sexuality that enhances personality, communication and love.’ In a healthy society, it is important to protect the sexual health of individuals and to provide training on this subject.

Nutrition affects sexual health as it affects many things in today’s conditions and is an important parameter for sexual desire, i.e., libido. There are many factors that affect sexual health such as exercise, stress, smoking and alcohol use. Accordingly, reproductive and sexual health problems are among the problems that can be encountered throughout life, starting from the youth period. Various treatments are applied in the face of these problems, but nutrition should be well evaluated on the basic of the issue.

For a healthy sexual life, you should consume some foods, nutrition programs and recommendations specific to the individual, and it is extremely important to comply with them.

  • Consumption of B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), vitamin E and antioxidants is important to ensure the flexibility and mobility of the vaginal muscles in women, increase adrenaline secretion, and increase sexual activity and sperm mobility in men.
  • Consumption of sesame, pea, peanut and egg rich in arginine is important to prevent impotence and infertility.
  • In order to prevent sexual fatigue, it is important to consume fish, red meat, organic cheese, green vegetables with high leucine amino acid content.
  • The use of artificial sweeteners affects the libido and is quite harmful to sexual health.

At 3-4th weeks postoperatively, 120 ml of food is administered at intervals of 60-90 minutes to the patient. At this stage, the foods are prepared in puree form and meet the protein and other nutritional requirements of the patient. Food should not be too hot or too cold; it should be close to body temperature, chewed well.

Liquid should not be consumed with meals in order to prevent the stomach from expanding. Approximately 30 minutes should be waited for post-meal fluid consumption. During this period, protein needs may not be fully met with food. Protein supplements should be continued to be used, 60 grams of protein per day for women and 90

grams of protein for men should be provided. Eggs (the yolk should be separated, only the white should be consumed), cottage cheese, low- fat cheese, steamed fish, chicken, vegetable purees that will not cause gas and distension can be given to patients. In the 2nd week of the puree diet, lean ground beef, ground twice, can also be added to the diet. The important point is that the meals are prepared by increasing their protein content.

It is an operation performed in the form of bypassing the majority of the gastric, leaving a small part after the esophagus.

Then, the part of the small intestine close to the stomach is taken and sutured to the small part of the stomach in accordance with the technique. That is, a new intestinal connection is created.

The purpose of this operation is to reduce the stomach volume and reduce absorption. Accordingly, the feeling of hunger decreases, the feeling of satiety increases and blood sugar remains stable.

The stomach is the largest part of the gastrointestinal tract and is the first digestive organ into which food enters immediately after the esophagus. Here the food is treated with stomach acid and broken down into smaller pieces. After about 3-4 hours, the food is thrown into the duodenum. Digestion continues here. The stomach secretes substances involved in the absorption of iron, which is necessary for blood formation, and in the absorption of vitamin B12.

Stomach ulcers and gastritis are the most common stomach disorders. Some stomach ulcers are mistaken for stomach cancers. To find out, endoscopy is performed and a sample is taken and sent to pathology for diagnosis. While the treatment of stomach diseases is medication, surgical treatment should be performed in the presence of cancer.

Gastric polyps, i.e. moles originating from inside the stomach, should also be removed endoscopically. If there is cancer inside the polyps or if they are very large, surgical treatment is necessary.

Gastric cancers are common cancers and their diagnosis and treatment require a specialized approach. Patients often present with weight loss, bleeding or obstruction. The most effective diagnostic method is to see the tumor by endoscopic examination and to take a piece of the tumor and evaluate it in pathology. In addition, radiological examinations such as whole abdomen tomography and PET-CT should be performed to understand the extent of the tumor.

Neoadjuvant treatment can be applied in appropriate patients. The main treatment is surgery and the tumor should be removed together with the surrounding tissue and lymph nodes.

These procedures, which take approximately 2-4 hours, can be performed as closed (laparoscopic) or open surgery. In appropriate cases, laparoscopic surgery allows the patient to have a lighter and less painful hospitalization period lasting approximately 1 week after surgery. After all procedures are completed, patients are referred to the relevant units for oncologic treatment.

Gastricbotox is performed by injecting botulinum toxin into certain parts of the stomach, which is applied endoscopically.

The purpose of the operation is to delay gastric emptying by slowing down the gastric movements to a certain extent and to provide a feeling of satiety by reducing the secretion of the ghrelin hormone, which we call the hunger hormone.

The duration of effect is between 4-6 months and the patient is expected to change his eating habits during this period.

Gastric balloon is an inflatable medical device. The gastric balloon, which is placed endoscopically without surgery and without stitches, is placed in the stomach and then inflated and the operation is performed. The balloon is inflated with methylene blue colored liquid compatible with body fluids by means of endoscopic apparatus. The operation takes an average of 15-20 minutes.

The purpose of the operation is not to reduce the stomach volume, but to facilitate early satiety and diet adaptation process by creating a fullness and indigestible area in the stomach. The duration of the gastric balloon’s stay in the body is determined by the physician, and when the time expires, the balloon is removed by endoscopy.

It is started after the first 24-48 hours following the operation.

It varies depending on the patient’s tolerance and is applied for 10-14 days.

During this period, foods that create minimal stimulation in the gastrointestinal tract should be preferred and the foods should be in liquid form. A patient’s meal should last between 60 and 90 minutes and should total 120 ml.

In addition to the clear liquid diet, enteral formulas, soy milk, skimmed and lactose-free milk, yogurt, ayran, plain kefir, low-fat cheese, soup
cooked and blenderized by appropriate methods can be consumed during this period. In addition, vitamin and mineral support can be provided with the approval of the physician.
